A Genie in the Attic

Haven't we all wished we had a real genie who could grant any our every wish? That would certainly make life easier, or so it seems.

Based on actual events (you knew that genies are real, right?), A Genie In The Attic tells the story of an underachieving teenager who stumbles across a genie bottle in his attic. He accidentally unleashes a genie who can't speak his language and is a mediocre genie anyway. Or at least he wishes she were mediocre. Turns out that she is a terrible genie who can hardly deliver on even the most basic wishes.

After trying to achieve his own selfish desires, with lots of hilarious chaos, this genie's master works to overcome their communication gap. All the time, his genie is desperately trying to find her three long-lost brothers. But once he finally gets the genie to understand him, will he use his last wish to help himself or her?

Dreaming in English

Handan Yilmaz said, "I came to America with my family when I was 11 years old. More than twenty years after we arrived in America I had a conversation with my father about learning a new language. My father had always told me I would know that I?m fluent in English once I had my first dream in English. So I asked him how long it took him before he had his first dream in English. He flatly told me that he has never dreamed in English. This is our story."

Dreaming In English is based on a true story about a family that emigrates from Turkey to the United States in the 1980s. Driven by dreams of a better life in the new world, the family works for years to combine their American dream with the reality settling into a new life and culture. And over time Handan's father struggles to reconcile his native culture, his decisions, his family and the ultimate path of his life with an old Turkish proverb: Your destiny is written on your forehead.

Cold Spark is co-producing this universal and compelling story with the talented team at Pinky and Shoosha Films.
